Recruitment of new board members

Stop Climate Chaos Scotland is a highly influential coalition of over 50 civil society organisations, campaigning on climate change. We are now seeking two new trustees to join our board at an exciting time, with COP26 coming to Glasgow in 2021 and a recent surge in public interest on climate action.

The SCCS Board is made up of  12 people who are responsible for overseeing the direction of the coalition. There are no paid Board members although some travel expenses can be claimed where required.

Board members may or may not work for coalition member organisations and are selected in order that their expertise may be drawn upon to benefit the coalition as a whole.

Board members will be expected to attend meetings approximately every two months (or more if required) as well as the SCCS AGM. Time commitment is expected to be 1-3 days per month. Board members are voted on to the Board for a term of three years and may serve no more than three terms (i.e. 9 years in total).

Board meetings are usually held in Edinburgh or Glasgow or by Zoom video call.

If you would like to discuss the role in more detail or please email Becky Kenton-Lake at: becky@stopclimatechaos.scot. If you’d like to apply, please send your current CV together with a covering letter to becky@stopclimatechaos.scot by Friday 24th April.
