Join DivestScotland in Glasgow on Saturday 13th April to get involved in the ever-growing divestment movement.
From getting Stirling University to divest from fossil fuels to persuading 38 of Scottish MPs to pledge to clean up their oily pensions, campaigners across Scotland have been building momentum and bringing in win after win!
Divestment is a tactic used to weaken the power and social acceptability of fossil fuel companies, by asking institutions such as universities, councils and religious institutions to ditch their fossil fuel investments. Globally, over 1000 institutions have divested almost $8 trillion from fossil fuel companies!
This day will bring together current divestment activists from across Scotland as well as new people looking to get involved. We will be exploring and skill-sharing around existing campaigns as well as introducing a brand new Divest Scotland campaign, aiming to get the Scottish Parliament to divest from fossil fuels!
